Born to Lloyd and Millie on
the bayou in the town of New Iberia Louisiana, Wardell was surrounded by the musical
influence of his family - his father being an accomplished pianist and
trombonist. His first foray into music began at age seven in Lafayette with
his aunt on piano.
Later, he tried other instruments and grew semi-proficient on French horn
(high school), bass (Seth Kurland band), trumpet and guitar. His
confusion at picking an instrument is definitely reflected on his album
"Untied," with all but one being his own compositions.
Besides promoting his own projects, Wardell
often performs with the top 40/Latin band
Kaos, playing at various venues in Southern California. His album
“Untied” features a more
country and Cajun sound. |
